Teak Pavilion creates a private and tranquil atmosphere in the chaotic surrounding. By contrasting the existing context of uniformed grid, the 45 degree diagonal lines are proposed to build an immersive experience which encourages visitors to walk through, to feel and to touch the beauty of teak.

The pavilion celebrates an alternative perception of timber appreciation, suggesting that the beauty of material should not be limited only to the larger and perfect uniform wooden pattern. Aesthetically, the smaller size, uneven texture and nonuniform color of teak are not wasted. The exhibition expresses these raw characteristics which value teak natural benefits and the hidden beauty of natural materiality.

Teak, found naturally in Thailand, should be easier to access by locals. Teak pavilion, in collaboration with Woodden, and other experts suggest that ‘Sustainable Harvesting Methodology’ helps create sustainable yield, which the products can be used now and continuingly used in the future, creating cycles of renewable resources. The exhibition intends to promote the benefits of teak and tell the story of teak cycle from its ecosystem to its potentials.
