CARE Station is located on the Ekkamai BTS staion, one of backbones of Bangkok infrastructure, to raise the bar of resilient mode of caring. Embracing Bangkok Design Week 2020 theme, “Resilience: New Potential for Living” should not limit only in the large scale of urban issues but also step back to see the small scale of everyday uses as a strong foundation for resilient mode of urban living. We believe that a little care can make a great positive impacts, so we would like to post the question to society that "If you were to die tomorrow, what would be the legacy you leave behind?".
CARE Station is designed to minimize all of the construction materials at all details. We consider market availability of materials which are plywood and solid timber to create fundamental showcase elements which are shelf and joint. This basic system creates the main architectural tectonic to establish a simple, flexible, and reusable module.
PAVA reduces construction waste by proposing a flexible modular system which could be replaced, reoriented and adapted in different situations. Without ornamental design elements, the modular design highlights the intrinsic value as an open-stage to support funeral wreath and refill products as the main protagonist of the story. Care station is layouted by understanding people flow, behavior and visual angle to situate flexible social infrastructure for everyone in this rapid time of urbanization.
Collaborating between Carenation, Refill Station, and PAVA architects, CARE Station will introduce “caring space” providing consumers with everyday eco-products. Furthermore, these purchases will help create job opportunities and donate to the underprivileged.
